Biblical Christianity:

if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important. – CS Lewis

I Love the Word of God!

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. – Deutr11:18,19

cash promise compared with God's promise

And my God (guaranteed by the Central Government) will meet (promise to pay) all your needs (the sum of rupees……) according to the riches of his glory (Reserve Bank of India) in Christ Jesus (Governor).

Prayer and Practice

Pray and the Peace of God will be with you, practice and the God of Peace will be with you!

Now what?

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. – 2 Cor 7:1

Now what?

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires – 2 Pet 1: 3,4

7 Golden Promises for Joy 1. Promise of the God of Peace

  • Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me— put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9
  • All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age – Mat 28: 18b, 20
  • Pray and the Peace of God will be with you, practice and the God of Peace will be with you!

2. Promise of Physical Transformation

  • But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. Phil 3:20,21
  • Romans 7:15 -25 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.

2. Promise of Physical Transformation

For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.  For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.  Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.  So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.  Romans 7

2. Promise of Physical Transformation

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans 7

2. Promise of Physical Transformation

Because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. … Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

  2 Corinthians 4 : 14-16

3. The Promise of Completion

  • I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6
  • Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. 2:12,13

3. The Promise of Completion (Cont’d..)

  • Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! – 2 Cor 5:17
  • And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Cor 3:18
  • Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. – 1 John 3:2,3

4. Promise of Clarity/Guidance

  • All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you – Phil 3:15
  • Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” – Isaiah 30:20,21
  • God does not direct a stationary car!

5. Promise of the Peace of God

  • Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. -Phil 4:6,7
  • You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Isaiah – 26:3

6. Promise of meeting of all NEEDS -4:19

And my God (Guarantor) will meet (promise) all your needs (amount) according to the riches of his glory (Bank) in Christ Jesus (signature)

7. Strength to accomplish all things

  • I can do all this through him who gives me strength – Philippians 4:13
  • I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ..You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you – John 15: 6.16
